The LSU Tigers are theĀ 2020 NCAA National ChampionsĀ after defeating the Clemson Tigers by a score of 42-25.Ā Heisman Trophy winnerĀ Joe BurrowĀ dominated Clemson's defense, throwing for 463 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran in for a touchdown, giving him six on the night.
Ja'Marr ChaseĀ andĀ Thaddeus Moss each caught two touchdowns, andĀ Terrace Marshall Jr.Ā snagged a 24-yard score to put LSU up by three possessions with 12:08 to go in the game.
LSU finishes the season with a perfect 15-0 record. It is the school's first national championship since 2007.
Clemson quarterbackĀ Trevor LawrenceĀ did not complete a touchdown pass and threw for just 234 yards. He did have a rushing touchdown, as didĀ Travis EtienneĀ andĀ Tee Higgins.
