Dazed and Confused actor Jason London was arrested this week in an incident that lived up to the title of his most famous film.

TMZ reports London, 48, was charged with public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident late Tuesday (September 14) night in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Police said London swerved his 2010 Nissan Maxima off the road and smashed the car multiple times. The actor was found behind the wheel of the vehicle, which was on fire and stuck in a ditch upon officers' arrival.

Police said a passenger was also standing near the car -- which experienced heavy damage on its right side -- at the scene

London told officers another driver sideswiped the vehicle and ran it off the road.

Officers said the actor smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and could barely keep his balance when speaking with them at the scene.

Police observed the scene and determined London swerved off the road, ran through a sign, got back on the road and then hit a concrete object before getting his vehicle stuck in the ditch.

London was booked into Jackson County Jail and reportedly too drunk to be fingerprinted, according to officers.

An Ocean Springs Police spokesperson told TMZ the responding officer used his discretion when opting not to charge London with a DUI, instead arresting him on other charges.

London is best known for playing Randall 'Pink' Floyd in the 1993 film Dazed and Confused and is also credited for roles in The Rage: Carrie 2 and The Man in the Moon, among numerous others.
