Dove hunting season opens in Nebraska today, September 1.
Game and Parks says mourning doves, Eurasian collared-doves, and white-winged doves are abundant across the state.
Plants that doves seek out for food, including sunflowers, millet, and wheat, were planted in many Nebraska wildlife management areas earlier this year to draw the birds in.
The dove bag limit is 15, with a possession limit of 45.
The season will end on October 30. More information is available on the Game and Parks website.
